Sofia Vergara poursuivie par l’héritage de Griselda Blanco pour la série Netflix “Griselda”

Sofia Vergara to be sued by the estate of Griselda Blanco over upcoming Netflix series
Sofia Vergara and Netflix are the subjects of a lawsuit from the estate of late Columbian drug queenpin Griselda Blanco over the new Netflix series, “Griselda,” according to TMZ. The series is set to premiere on Jan. 25. The Colombian actress, 51, plays Blanco in the series which is the motive behind the lawsuit.
Blancos’s children lead the lawsuit
Blanco’s children, led by her son, Michael, have filed a lawsuit to prevent the release of the six-part series. Michael claims he did a bunch of interviews with writers between 2009 and 2022, detailing anecdotes and material for the series, which were apparently used without financial compensation to him.
Griselda’s life and operation
Blanco operated her drug business out of Miami from the 1970s through to the early 2000s. Her nickname, “The Cocaine Queen,” and her business tactics made her one of the most feared figures of her time. Having been arrested in 1985, she was charged with conspiring to manufacture, import, and distribute cocaine and was sentenced to 15 years in prison and was eventually released in 2004. She was assassinated in a drive-by shooting in Medellin, Colombia in 2012.
Accusations against Netflix
Suing Netflix for using their story without permission or financial compensation, Blanco’s children claim that their images and likenesses were used in the series without their consent, which constitutes a violation of their rights. They state that although Netflix can dramatize events related to their mother, they should be rightfully compensated for the details provided.
Sofia Vergara’s career and personal life
Sofia Vergara is known for her role as Gloria Delgado-Pritchett on “Modern Family” and is currently a judge on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent”. On top of her professional role, she is currently going through a divorce from actor Joe Manganiello. Interviewed by “CBS Sunday Morning” as reported by Page Six, Sofia discussed her plans for moving on with much consideration to her life as a public figure.
From the premiere of “Griselda” to the pending lawsuit, both Sofia Vergara and Netflix are experiencing a resounding uproar about the authenticity of the series.
