Steven Spielberg choisit Bradley Cooper pour diriger et jouer dans un biopic de Leonard Bernstein

Bradley Cooper directs and stars in Maestro, a film about Leonard Bernstein
Bradley Cooper took on the challenge of directing and starring in the drama Maestro, based on the life of composer and conductor Leonard Bernstein. Steven Spielberg was initially set to direct, but after watching an early cut of Cooper’s directing debut, A Star Is Born, he tapped Cooper for both jobs.
Cooper’s portrayal of Bernstein focused on the composer’s complicated but loving marriage to actress Felicia Montealegre Cohn
Leonard Bernstein’s bisexuality caused a rift in his marriage to Felicia, but a cancer diagnosis brought them back together, leading to an unorthodox but genuine love story that Cooper found intriguing.
Authenticity and Behind-the-Scene Insights
Cooper consulted Bernstein’s children and was permitted to film at the family’s Connecticut home in order to capture an authentic portrayal of the composer’s life and works.
The film’s score features Bernstein’s own works, and Cooper spent extensive time in the makeup chair to achieve the composer’s look, emphasizing the efforts made to capture Bernstein’s essence.
