Conférence clé de Darío Turovelzky, dirigeant Paramount, lors d’Iberseries

Paramount Global, the international arm of Paramount, is making a big push into the global market following the end of the writers’ strike. With the launch of Paramount Television International Studios (PTIS) earlier this year, the company is attending various industry events around the world to talk about its competitive assets and priorities.
Paramount Global’s New Leadership
Darío Turovelzky, the Executive VP of Broadcast & Studios, Paramount Global, Latin America, recently delivered a keynote speech at Madrid’s Iberseries & Platino Industria. Turovelzky, who oversees ViacomCBS’ Argentine and Chilean networks, was promoted to his current position in July 2022.
Another recent appointment is Anna Priest, who will head Paramount+ for the UK market. She will be responsible for the platform’s strategic vision and growth opportunities.
Nicole Clemens, President of PTIS and Paramount+ Original Scripted Series, will be speaking at Rome’s MIA market, while Bob Bakish, President & CEO of Paramount Global, will receive the Personality of the Year Award at Cannes’ Mipcom trade fair.
PTIS Production Strategy
Turovelzky discussed PTIS’s production strategy, emphasizing the company’s commitment to creating original content for Paramount+ in territories where it operates, such as Latin America. He also highlighted their co-production partnerships in countries where Paramount+ is not available, citing the example of “Mentiras Pasajeras,” a Spanish series made with Pedro Almodóvar’s El Deseo.
PTIS currently has a diverse slate of productions, with 20 projects in different stages of pre-production, shooting, or post-production. Turovelzky also highlighted the importance of working with top talents in Latin America and Spain, mentioning their exclusive deal with Juan José Campanella and their partnership with Morena Films.
Paramount’s Multiplatform Ecosystem
Turovelzky emphasized Paramount’s multiplatform ecosystem, which includes both linear networks like Telefe and streaming platforms like Paramount+. He stated that these platforms complement and expand each other’s content, citing the success of the telenovela “The First of Us,” which premiered simultaneously on Telefe and Paramount+. The show achieved high ratings on both platforms.
Paramount’s ability to generate new audiences and lines of business is another strength of their multiplatform approach. Turovelzky highlighted the success of their content both locally and internationally, with shows like “Death’s Roulette” performing well not only in Latin America but also in countries like Germany and Italy.
Paramount as a Global Production Hub
Turovelzky emphasized Paramount’s position as a production hub for the rest of the world. Through their acquisitions of Telefe, Chilevisión, Porta dos Fundos, and other studios, Paramount has expanded its reach and can create content that resonates globally.
In conclusion, Paramount Global is making significant strides in the international market, focusing on creating original content, forming strategic partnerships, and leveraging its multiplatform ecosystem. With a strong lineup of productions and a commitment to quality, Paramount is positioning itself as a major player in the global entertainment industry.
