MonsterVerse Franchise Enters Your Living Room Screen with Monarch: Legacy of Monsters
Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, the latest series in the MonsterVerse cinematic universe by Legendary Pictures, makes its debut on Apple TV+. Set in the aftermath of the 2014 Godzilla attack, the 10-episode series introduces a new character, Cate, who embarks on a journey to Tokyo to uncover the truth about her father and discovers a startling family connection to a secret monster research organization.
The Plot
Set one year after the G-Day attack, the storyline follows Cate, played by Anna Sawai, an educator from the Bay Area on a quest to Tokyo to investigate her father’s mysterious death. In her journey of self-discovery, she unravels a shocking family secret and her connection to Monarch, a clandestine organization studying the world’s monsters.
Lead characters joining Sawai in the show include Kurt Russell, Wyatt Russell, Kiersey Clemons, Mari Yamamoto, Anders Holm, Joe Tippett, and Elisa Lasowski among others. Matt Fraction and Chris Black are the masterminds behind the series, with Black also serving as the showrunner.
Streaming Information and Release Schedule
With the debut on Apple TV+, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters shifts from the silver screen to the convenience of your home. The first season is available to stream starting Friday, with new episodes scheduled for release every Friday. The series will conclude with its season finale on January 12, 2024.

In 2021, the closely-knit universe brought the anticipated showdown between Godzilla and King Kong in Godzilla vs. Kong. The hype continues with their upcoming collaboration in Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, expected in early 2024.
