Amazon presents Fallout, a highly anticipated adaptation of the blockbuster video game franchise, was unveiled for the first time to an international audience at the Canneseries television festival.

The first two episodes of the series were screened in Cannes a week prior to its global release on Prime Video. Fallout is set 200 years after a 1950s nuclear apocalypse that destroyed modern civilization.
The story follows Lucy, played by Ella Purnell, a young woman raised underground in a luxury fallout shelter. Unaware of the wasteland above, Lucy is forced to leave her vault and navigate the harsh realities of the world when her loved ones are threatened.
Star-Studded Premiere
The Cannes premiere saw the presence of Ella Purnell, director Jonathan Nolan, Kyle MacLachlan, and Aaron Moten. Purnell received the Canneseries rising star award before the screening.
Jonathan Nolan and Ella Purnell were captured on the Fallout set. The series’ showrunners are Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner.
Audience Reception
The series was well-received at Cannes, with viewers praising its humor, retro style, and intense action sequences, reminiscent of the video game.
Fallout is set to premiere on Prime Video on April 11.
