Harding women’s soccer team wins 2-1 against Northeastern State and starts the season with a 2-0 record!

The Harding women’s soccer team had a strong start to their season, winning their first two games for the first time since 2004. In a non-conference match against Northeastern State, the Lady Bisons emerged victorious with a score of 2-1 at the Stevens Soccer Complex. This victory is particularly significant as it is their first win against the Riverhawks since 2009.
Goals
The first goal of the game came in the 17th minute when Regan Thompson delivered a through ball to Briley-Anne Brown, who scored her first goal of the season. In the 28th minute, Georgia Templeton took a shot that was blocked, and Regan Thompson capitalized on the loose ball, scoring her first goal of the season. With a score of 2-0 in favor of Harding, Northeastern State managed to find the back of the net in the 43rd minute when Lexis Walls scored a free kick from 40-yards out.
Statistics
During the game, Harding took seven shots, three of which were on target. Regan Thompson was the standout player for Harding, with two shots.
