William Katt was born on February 16, 1951 in Los Angeles, he was the son of Bill Williams and Barbara Hale. He frequented the Orange Coast College, before continuing a career as a musician. He began an actor career by appearing in the play "Summer Stock", as well as in various small roles on television. In 1976, he played in the film "Carrie", by Brian de Palma, in 1978 he played the role of Sundance Kid in "Butch and Sundance, The Early Days". From 1981 to 1983, he played the role of Ralph Hinkley in the series "The Greatest American Hero". Although he felt silly in the costume, it was this role that made him famous. In 1986 he played in the horror movie House. From 1985, he played the role of Paul Drake Junior in the TV series Perry Mason, alongside his mother, Barbara Hale, who took up the role of Della Street. In 1991, he appeared in the sitcom "Good Sports".
