How I Met Your Mother is an American television series created by Carter Bays and Craig Thomas and broadcast under its original title since September 19, 2005, on CBS, and simultaneously on Citytv in Canada.

The series has been broadcast on Canal+ since February 11, 2007, on NT1 since September 1, 2008 and on overseas 1st since November 29, 2010 in France and on Belgian channels Plug RTL and BE TV. On the French channel TF6, the series is broadcast under the title how I met it.

Thanks to the success of the series and its audiences, it was renewed for a seventh and an eighth seasons by CBS.

The series was filmed in New York and followed the adventures of five friends - Ted Mosby, Lily Aldrin, Marshall Eriksen, Robin Scherbatsky and Barney Stinson - while they were going through the different stages of their life in New York.

Ted was an architect who was trying to find the love of his life while telling the story of this quest to his children in a distant future. Lily was her best friend and confidante, and she was married to Marshall, a lawyer. Robin was a television news journalist and Ted's ex-girlfriend. Barney was a professional donation juan who loved challenges and jokes.

The series was acclaimed by criticism for its intelligent comedy and its original way of telling the story. She has won numerous prizes, including an Emmy Award for the best artistic direction for a comic series in 2011. The main actors in the series were Josh Radnor, Jason Segel, Cobie Smulders, Neil Patrick Harris and Alyson Hannigan.

The series ended after nine seasons and 208 episodes. The last episode, entitled "The End of the Aisle", was broadcast on March 31, 2014 and aroused great interest and controversy among fans and criticism. Although most fans appreciated the conclusion of history, some were disappointed with the end and expressed their dissatisfaction on social networks.
