Code Quantum (Quantum Leap) is an American television series broadcast between 1989 and 1993. It stages the main character, Sam Beckett, a physicist who finds himself propelled in time through his own past. He is accompanied by a hologram of his friend and colleague, Al, who helps him understand the situation in which he finds himself and accomplishing the "mission" entrusted to him in each episode. The series follows the adventures of Sam as it jumps from one era to another, finding itself in different situations each time. He can be a soldier during the Second World War, a US Air Force pilot during the Cold War, an infantry soldier during the Vietnam War, or a private detective in the 1950s. In each episode, Sam Must solve a problem or help someone overcome an obstacle, while trying to find a way to return in your own time. Sam's main objective is to repair the errors of the past in order to put things in order and return to his own time. However, he has to face many obstacles, including antagonistic characters who seek to prevent him from succeeding in his mission. Sam must also deal with the consequences of his actions in the past, which can have repercussions on his present and his future. Despite the difficulties, Sam continues to jump over time, helped by Al and by the voice of a mysterious woman named Ziggy, who provides her information on the missions to be accomplished. Over the series, Sam and Al discover that their time jump experience has consequences on their personal life and the universe as a whole. The series ends with an open note, leaving Sam in uncertainty as to his fate and that of his relatives. TriviaIn the episode "Lee Harvey Oswald", we see a lieutenant carrying his military medallion "D. Bellisario" to his neck, in reference to the producer of the series, Donald Bellisaro, who was in the army with Lee Harvey Oswald. In the episode "History of a sly ghost", the face that Sam sees in the mirror is that of the producer, Donald Bellisaro. Code Quantum has several winks to a previous TV series by Donald Bellisaro, "the stories of the gold monkey", with for example the character "gushie", and the episode "ghost vessel" where the character of the Captain Cutter, corresponding to the main character in the same series. Scott Bakula has written and interpreted all the songs of the episode "The man on the piano". The bar of the last episode was created according to the bar held the father of Donald Bellisaro. Scott Bakula's daughter, Chelsy, appears in the episode "La melody de Memphis". In the episode "The memphis melody", Sam plays the young Elvis Presley. At one point in the episode, Elvis passes as a young talent. When Elvis returns behind the scenes, we hear a saxophone in the background. We then hear the presenter saying "It was the young Billy C., coming from Hope in Arkansas!". A young boy arrives then, wearing a saxophone. This boy was intended to be a future president of the United States, Bill C. was actually Bill Clinton (who really played saxophone).
Anachronisms. In the episode "The Play's The Thing" (11th episode of the 4th season), the greeting card that Sam looks in in 1964, has a barcode on the back. In the episode "Double identity" (5-1), which took place in November 1965, Una posted on a theater indicates "Doctor Jivago" is played there. This piece made its 1st performance on December 22, 1965. In the episode "Disco Inferno" (2-2), which takes place on April 1, 1976. We are Thursday, and an episode of "Saturday Night Live" goes on TV. In this program, Bill Murray and Chevy Chase are together on the set, when they never appeared together in this program. In addition, the person that Sam embodies is a stuntman on the set of "earthquake", which was released only 2 years later. In the last episode, Sam looks at a bit of "zero captain" on TV. We are in August 1953, and "Captain Zero" began on TV in 1955. In the episode "Leap of Faith", which takes place in the Philadelphia of the 60s, Sam meets an amateur boxer called S. Stallone. It is therefore assumed that it is Sylvester Stallone, or Sylvester Stallone grew up in New York. FilmingFilming locations:
