" The former American television series entitled beyond the real (The Outer Limits) was broadcast for the first time in the United States between 1963 and 1965. The series included independent episodes featuring fantastic and often disturbing situations, exploring The themes of science fiction, parapsychology and ufology. Each episode was introduced by a narrator who invited viewers to "enter the fourth dimension" and to discover "the most distant limits of human experience". The series was created by Leslie Stevens and produced by Joseph Stefano, who had already worked on the famous psychosis series. Beyond the real has been influenced by other science fiction productions, including the fourth dimension and the invaders, and was praised for its original and daring approach to science fiction. Beyond the real was broadcast on the ABC channel for two seasons, including 49 episodes in total. The series was noticed for the quality of its scenarios and the performance of its actors, notably Robert Culp, Martin Landau and Leonard Nimoy. The series was also an opportunity for many directors and writers to make themselves known, including David Cronenberg and Harlan Ellison. Despite its success with the public and criticism, beyond the real was canceled in 1965 due to high production costs and the emergence of new television formats. However, the series continued to be disseminated as a syndication and has experienced a renewed interest over the years thanks to its reputation as a classic science fiction. In 1995, a new version of the series was produced and broadcast on the Showtime channel, but it did not have the same success as the original. TriviaFilmingFilming locations: Authors of the card
