Bruce Boxleitner (born May 12, 1950 in Elgin, Illinois) is an American actor, best known for his leading roles in the television series Scarecrow and Mrs. King and Babylon 5, and his starring role in the film Tron. He has made appearances in many other TV shows, such as Judith Krantz's Till We Meet Again and She Spies.
Bruce is married to actress Melissa Gilbert.
Born on May 12, 1950 in Elgin in Illinois, Bruce Boxleitner obtained his first big role in 1976 with the TV Western series the conquest of the West (first The Maclahans and 2 years later How the West Was). He then began a long career on television where he chained series and TV movies including the 4 episodes of gamblers with Kenny Rogers, the Frank Hunter of Fauves series who lasted only a season and then the success of the two made the pair where he played The spy Lee Stetson for 4 years against Kate Jackson. After a multitude of TV movies, he returns to the TV series by taking the next generation of actor Michael O'Hare for the 2nd season of the Babylon 5 science fiction soap for which he will remain faithful to the end (four seasons + three TV movies ). Bruce Boxleitner was also the hero of the visionary film Tron in 1982 which was the very first film made in synthetic images. He recently started writing with a trilogy of novels, 2 volumes of which have appeared to date: Frontier Earth and Searcher, it is a science fiction western, his two favorite subjects. He is currently the husband of actress Melissa Gilbert.
