Biography for Cheech Marin

Actor, screenwriter and director, Cheech Marin first made known as a humorist thanks to the duo Cheech and Chong. Originally from Los Angeles, he grew up in the San Fernando valley, not far from the Hollywood hills. Student with Fine Arts, he met Tommy Chong in Vancouver. Having become partners, the two men recorded several comic shows between 1970 and 1985, occurred in concert and played in eight feature films based on their comic shows. After his separation from Chong, Cheech Marin turns to cinema. He writes, makes and plays in many films including Desperado, a night in hell. He has a large number of television performances to his credit including the Nash Bridges series with Don Johnson.

Cheech Marin is an actor, writer and American director known for his work in comedies in the 1970s and 1980s with his comedy partner, Tommy Chong. Marin was born on July 13, 1946 in Los Angeles, California. He grew up in the district of San Fernando Valley and was raised by his mother, who was of Mexican origin.
