David James Elliott, his real name David William Smith, was born on September 21 in Milton (a small town in the suburbs of Toronto) in Ontario, Canada. He is the second of three children. Before living in Canada, the Smith family lived in the Bahamas.
As a teenager, David James Elliott was interested in music and rock'n roll. He is also, for a certain time, leader of a group and leaves the school to devote all his time. He abandoned music and returned to Milton to finish high school. He is only 19. In 1995, Elliott obtained his first important role in the television series Jag, where he played the main character, Harmon Rabb Jr., a military lawyer of the American navy.
