SynopsisLois and Clark is based on Superman being a Generation X man. In his twenties somewhere Clark must experience life as a pre-thirties pupil. Lois, as always, is by his side at the Daily Planet, adding that oh-so-ever romantic side to his life. The relationship between Lois and Clark, is as always, a platonic but on the edge of mad love, type of experience. TriviaKevin Sorbo originally tried out for the part of Clark Kent/Superman.
Gerard Christopher auditioned for the role of Clark Kent/Superman, and was chosen by the casting director. However, when the casting director subsequently read Christopher's resume and discovered that he had previously starred as Clark Kent/ Superboy in "Superboy" (1988), he immediately dismissed Christopher. According to Christopher, the man told him, "you've done this already!"

Phyllis Coates, who played Lois's mother, was the original Lois Lane on "Adventures of Superman" (1952).
