Sam Waterston of its real name Samuel Atkinson Waterston is an American player and producer born November 15, 1940 in Cambridge Massachusstts

He started at the theater at the age of 6, in "Antigone", a piece created by his own father. Despite this experience, his career did not start immediately. He first undertook studies at the Sorbonne and the American Actors Workshop in Paris as well as the Yale Schools of Drama. In 1961, he appeared in the series "Dr Kildare", before being noticed the following year in "Oh Dad, Poor Dad, Mama's Hung You in the Closet and I'm Feeling So Bad", a play that 'He interprets Broadway. He made his little way and it was in 1972 that he was noticed at the cinema in "Savage", a film directed by James Ivory. In 1974, the whole world discovered him in "Gatsby the Magnificent" by Jack Clayton, he interpreted the role of Nick Carraway, this interpretation earned him an appointment to the Golden Globe for best actor. He will shoot several times under the direction of Woody Allen, notably in "Interiors", "Hannah and his sisters", "September" and "Crimes and crimes". During the 1980s, we find him in "La Porte du Paradis" by Michael Cimino and embodied journalist Sydney Schanberg in "La tear" by Roland Joffé, this role earned him an appointment of the Oscar for best actor and a second Golden Globe. In 1994, he obtained the role of the first substitute Jack McCoy, who later became a prosecutor in the series "New York District" better known as "New York Judicial Police".
