Biography for Ted McGinley

Ted McGinley (born May 30, 1958 in Newport Beach, California) is an American actor.

He is best known for his role as Jefferson D'Arcy on Married with Children from 1991 to 1997. He now plays Charley Shanowski on Hope & Faith since 2003.

The appearance of Ted McGinley on a show as a main character or recurring guest performer is seen by some television buffs as a sign that a show might be becoming tired. This is because he has joined the cast of popular and enduring series later in their runs, and continued with them as they went into decline. Such shows include Happy Days, The Love Boat, and Dynasty. Some refer to him as "the patron saint of shark jumping" (see jumping the shark). However, it should be noted that McGinley's tenure on Married with Children, his best-known role, lasted much longer than that of David Garrison, his predecessor. On the other hand, as a replacement character, this places him in an additional Jump the Shark category. It should also be noted that his current show, Hope & Faith, is currently in a successful run on ABC.

Ted McGinley made his debut in 1980 in the Soap Happy Days, in which he interpreted Roger Phillips for four years. He continued with the cruise was having fun in 1985 and Dynasty in 1986 parallel. At the same time, he played several times in Hotel. After years of soaps and soap operas with rose water, Ted McGinley decides to change its genre and in 1991 became Jefferson d'Arcy in the sitcom married two children until 1997, the date of arrest of the series.

Since then, as we have seen in the role of Gordon in the sitcom Sports Night broadcast on ABC between 1998 and 2000, in the Work With Me pilot in 1999, in the White House in 2000 and 2001 and in The Practice in 2001 . In 2003, he returned to Charlie Lawrence broadcast on CBS and in Family Curse on the Warner Bros.

Ted McGinley is an American actor known for playing in several popular television series. He began his career in the 1980s and has since played in many roles on television and cinema.

One of his important first roles was that of Jefferson d'Arcy in the television series "Married ... with Children", where he played for several years. He also played in other popular series such as "The Love Boat", "Dynasty" and "The West Wing".

In addition to his roles on television, Ted McGinley has also played in several films, notably in "Revenge of the Nerds", "Wayne's World" and "Happy Gilmore". He also appeared in reality TV shows like "Dancing with the Stars".

Ted McGinley is considered to be a versatile and talented actor, capable of playing in different kinds of productions, ranging from light comedies to more serious dramas. He has received many positive criticisms for his performances over the years and has gained great popularity with the public.
