Tim Matheson is an American actor born December 31, 1947 in Glendale, California. He is best known for his role as Jon "Otter" Stratton in the Comédie Animal House and for having played the role of special agent Michael Westen in the television series Burn Notice.
Matheson began his acting career at the age of 13, playing in television advertisements. He then made his cinema debut by playing in films for teenagers such as Bonjour, Saturday! And the ghosts of the hotel. He also played in more adult films such as the Blues of the Navy and the Green Giant.
Matheson also has a television career. He has played in many television series, notably Bonanza, the fourth dimension, the man who was worth three billion and The Love Boat. He was also a producer and director of several episodes of the television series The West Wing.
