My friend Ben (Gentle Ben in English) was an American television series broadcast between 1967 and 1969 on the CBS network. The series was based on children's books of the same name written by Walt Morey. She told the story of a boy named Mark and her friend, a bear named Ben.

The series took place in the Everglades in Florida, and followed the adventures of Mark and Ben in the wilderness. Mark was a 10 -year -old boy who lived with his father, a forest ranger, in a small cabin in the swamps. Ben was an adult brown bear, very kind and sweet, who lived in the neighboring forest.

Mark and Ben were good friends and spent a lot of time together. They were walking in the swamps, fished, and chased. They often met wild animals in the forest, and sometimes had to face dangers, such as poisonous snakes or violent thunderstorms. Despite these dangers, Mark and Ben were still there for each other and managed to get out of it thanks to their friendship and their love for nature.

My friend Ben was a very popular series at the time of its broadcasting, and was greeted for its natural beauty and its teachings on friendship and wild life. It was partly filmed in the real Everglades in Florida, which added a touch of realism to history. The series was broadcast for two seasons, with a total of 26 episodes. It was followed by two suites, Gentle Ben 2: Danger on the Mountain (1998) and Gentle Ben 3: The Search (2003), which were shot on video and broadcast on television.
