Synopsis

"HEC RAMSEY" is a series of the 1970s which, long before the surge of "experts" and other success, had the great merit of offering not only as a historic background the finishing west, that is to say The years 1890/1900, but also to set foot in a police officer, not to say a sheriff, with resolutely scientific investigation methods.

Hec Ramsey was embodied by Richard Boone, once a lawyer who preferably using, like many others, his colt to carry out his investigations, but who, at the dawn of the 20th century, had converted into a police officer Based on the latest scientific discoveries of the time: fingerprint research, constitution of sheets, laboratory work, etc ...

It is therefore as a crime expert that Ramsey accepts the position of police chief of the city of New Prospect in Oklahoma. Arrived at their destination, he meets his direct superior, Oliver B. Stamp, and notes that the latter is far too young and inexperienced in the judicial field. However, by them, they will end up forming a formidable duo of investigators.

HEC RAMSEY was an American television series broadcast between 1972 and 1974. The series was focused on the character of HEC RAMSEY, an experienced police inspector who was retired, but who decided to get out of his retirement to help the forces of the Order of a small town in the American West. HEC Ramsey was played by actor Richard Boone and the series was produced by Leslie Stevens.

HEC RAMSEY was a police series, but it was distinguished from the other police series of the time by emphasizing the methods of scientific and modern investigation, rather than on violence and action. HEC Ramsey often used techniques for analyzing the crime scene and other scientific methods to resolve the crimes he was responsible for investigating.

The series was broadcast for two seasons, with a total of 26 episodes. Despite his short duration, HEC Ramsey was greeted by criticism for his unique approach to the police series and for the performance of Richard Boone as a main character. The series also received several nominations at the Emmy Awards, including a nomination for Boone in the Best Actor category in a television series.

Unfortunately, the series was canceled after two seasons due to low audiences. However, she remained popular with fans of the police series and is considered one of the most innovative series of her time.
