Synopsis

A nuclear disaster immerses the inhabitants of Jericho, a small town of 5,000 inhabitants of Kansas, in chaos. They are cut off from the outside world following an electricity failure, then an electromagnetic impulse. Led by the mayor Johnston Green and his two sons, Eric and Jake Green (central character in the series), the inhabitants of Jericho will try to survive in winter, which will be particularly tough. Doubts, fears and despair are starting to win the small group of survivors. But, faced with this ordeal, "the worst as the best can arise in every human being".

Jericho was an American television series broadcast between 2006 and 2008. She told the story of a small town in Kansas named Jericho, which is plunged into chaos following a series of nuclear attacks on several American cities. The city is cut off from the rest of the world and has to face challenges such as the shortage of food and water, civil disorders and attempts to invasion of foreign forces.

The main characters in the series include Jake Green, the nephew of the city mayor, who returns to Jericho after a long absence; Hawkins, a former army soldier who helps Jake to manage the situation; And Emily Sullivan, a teacher who quickly became an important member of the community. The series highlights the efforts of the inhabitants of Jericho to survive and rebuild their city in a post-apocalyptic world.

Jericho was very popular with viewers and has won several prizes, including a People's Choice Award for the best science fiction series. However, the series was canceled after only two seasons due to low audiences. Despite this, the fans launched a campaign to bring the series back, which finally led to the production of an episode of TV movie in 2008.
