Synopsis

A successful novelist who tends to come across corpses try to resolve them by helping the local police.

Jessica is a 58 -year -old widow who was an English teacher before being retired, she lives in a small town in Maine by the name of Cabot Cove whose inhabitants she knows.

Following the death of her husband, she sets out to write detective novels without the intention of publishing them but her nephew Grady having found her exciting writings decided to send them to a publisher and this is how Jessica BĂ©atrice Fletcher became a successful author.

Arabesque (Murder, She Wrote in original version) is an American television series created by Peter S. Fischer, Richard Levinson and William Link. The series was broadcast between 1984 and 1996 on the CBS network and was produced by Universal Television. It has a total of 264 episodes of 47 minutes each, divided into 12 seasons.

The series features actress Angela Lansbury in the role of Jessica Fletcher, a successful romance and author who often solves criminal investigations in the fictitious small town of Cabot Cove, in Maine. Although the series was initially designed as a police comedy, it quickly took a more serious turn and became a classic of police television.

The intrigue of each episode of the series focuses on the murder of a person in Cabot Cove and the efforts of Jessica Fletcher to discover the identity of the culprit. Although she is often helped by her friends and family in her investigations, it is generally her intelligence and skill to identify details that others have missed which allow her to resolve crimes.

Trivia

For the role of Jessica Fletcher, the producers had first thought of Jean Stapelton, an actress in vogue at the time who played in the successful series "All in the family", but she was not excited by the Idea of ​​the concept. The producers then contact Angela Lansbury who was looking for a first role in a sitcom and which will make the series success thanks to its incredible personality.
