Parker Lewis never loses (Parker Lewis Can't Lose in English) was a comic American television series which was broadcast from 1990 to 1993. The series was centered on the character of Parker Lewis, an intelligent and ingenious high school student who was doing everything That he could to avoid being fought by his principal, Mr. Jerry Anderson. Parker was accompanied by his friends, Mikey Randall and Jerry "Mouth" Murdock, with whom he made all kinds of nonsense to escape the surveillance of Mr. Anderson.

The series was known for its offbeat humor and eccentric characters, as well as for its innovative use of technology of the time, such as mobile phones and computers. She was greeted by criticism for her refreshing tone and her performance of the actors.

Trivia

This series is inspired by the film La Folle Day by Ferris Bueller whose hero was interpreted by Matthew Broderick.

Despite its rather banal theme, this series surprises with the originality of its very "comic" realization (the characters are transformed according to their moods, as well as the objects are transformed according to the situations), and experienced some success in the 90's.

Many references to the cinema (Terminator, when Harry meets Sally, Casablanca ...), to contemporary fashions (the surge Madonna) and the cartoon (especially with the corrosive and very pictorial humor of Tex Avery - especially in season 1 , to diminish later: movements of characters and cameras, falls, wacky and nonsense) are present in this series. Film themes are sprinkled, giving the series a second degree aspect and offbeat tribute to all the arts, like the cartoons of the time (Warner Bros ... note the strange similarity of certain characters with heroes , like Parker Lewis and Bugs Bunny, Larry and Spike Le Bulldog ...)

Many winks are thus scattered: cult replicas, reconstituted or apparent paintings, such as the CRI of Edvard Munch in Musso's office or the reconstruction of night birds, famous picture of Edward Hopper ...

The second degree humor and the recurrence of the situation comic makes the series catchy, where the distributes scathing (between Parker and his sister) follow one another at the wacky scenes (like Lemmer on the point of putting a rabid cat in a mouse cage) , even, completely offbeat (like the parents Lewis dancing in front of their son by learning that they were going to be on the straw by the opening of a new video store).

Representative of a light mentality of adolescents, mocking the aesthetic canons of the 90s, Parker Lewis was able to prove to be influential in the behavioral evolution of adolescents and young adults during this period.

Note, moreover, that unlike the series of the same era (and which are made several allusions, notably Beverly Hills and saved by the Gong), Parker Lewis shows a second degree to foolproof, the characters often being brought to question, even to make fun of themselves.

It is this decline and the timeless humor that ensure the series a success still undented to date, after 15 years of multiple reruns.

Its toons aspect most likely inspired series with marked visual springs, like Ally Mc Beal.
