Summary

Reaper centers on Sam Oliver (Bret Harrison), a slacker in his early twenties who is forced into an unusual and dangerous job when he discovers that his biological father is none other than the Devil himself. After Sam's 21st birthday, his father comes to collect on a deal made before his birth, and as part of the arrangement, Sam is tasked with becoming a "Reaper" — someone who must capture souls that have escaped Hell and return them. His mission is to chase down these rogue souls, which often leads to bizarre, thrilling, and sometimes hilarious situations.

Sam isn’t alone in his new role; his two best friends, Sock (Tyler Labine) and Ben (Rick Gonzalez), as well as the mysterious and attractive Andi (Missy Peregrym), get involved in his perilous adventures. Sam is provided with tools and assistance from the Devil (Ray Wise), whose sardonic wit and malicious demeanor only complicate Sam’s tasks. Throughout the show, Sam struggles with his newfound responsibility, his growing understanding of his demonic parentage, and his complicated relationships with those around him, particularly with his romantic interest, Andi. The show blends comedic moments with action, supernatural lore, and a surprisingly emotional undercurrent, as Sam navigates his destiny while questioning what it means to have the Devil as a father.
