South Park is a television series for American adult animation created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone. The series follows the adventures of four boys, Stan Marsh, Kyle Broflovski, Eric Cartman and Kenny McCormick, and takes place in the small fictitious town of South Park, in Colorado. The series is known for its often satirical and controversial humor, which addresses subjects such as politics, religion and society in general. Since its first broadcast in 1997, South Park has enjoyed a lively commercial and critical success, winning several awards, including five Primetime Emmy Awards. The series is currently broadcast on Comedy Central in the United States.
