SynopsisAlec, a young boy, gets friends for a stallion, black. With the help of Henry, a former coach, they try to win all the races. Because Alec is the only one who can ride the fiery horse. The black stallion (The Adventures of the Black Stallion in English) was an American television series for children which was broadcast for the first time in 1979. The series featured Mickey Rooney in the role of Henry Cooper, a boy who becomes a friend with a wild stallion named the black stallion. Henry and the black stallion live fascinating adventures together, in particular by participating in horse races. The series was based on the children's novels of Walter Farley, who told the adventures of the black stallion and its owner, Alec Ramsay. In the television series, Henry replaced Alec in the role of the owner of the black stallion. The black stallion was a popular series at the time of its broadcast, thanks to its thrilling plot and its endearing characters. The series won several awards, including a Primetime Emmy Award for the best special effects in 1979. In addition to Mickey Rooney, the series featured a wide range of talented actors, notably Teri Garr, Don Dubbins, Hoyt Axton and Cliff Potts. The black stallion was also adapted to a series of movies for television, with a different actor in the role of Henry in each film. Although the series was arrested several years ago, it remains popular with horses and adventure fans.
