Synopsis

Daniel Westin and his wife Kate is carrying out research on invisibility within Klae Corporation, a scientific institute working for the government. Until the day when thought to have managed to develop the right process, Westin tried it on itself. But a dysfunction disrupts the progress of the operation and causes the destruction of the devices, at the same time as it makes the researcher's invisibility permanent.

With the help of Walter Carlson, their boss, they manage to camouflage the westin state with the military, endowing it with a mask and gloves made in a material imitating 'perfectly' (!) Human skin.

From now on the Westin couple must resume their research in order to allow "Dan" to regain their visibility. In the meantime, his condition allows him to carry out some secret missions, to be of service on occasion, or to get out of the bad steps.

The invisible man (the invisible man in English) was an American television series which was broadcast for the first time in 1975. The series was based on the science fiction character of the invisible man created by H.G. Wells in his novel Eponymous published in 1897.

The main character in the series was a scientist named Daniel Westin, interpreted by actor David McCallum. Westin worked for a secret organization called Klae Corporation, led by a certain Harry Spalding (interpreted by Craig Stevens). Westin had been exposed to a substance called "Quinium" which allowed him to become invisible at will, but he also had dangerous side effects on his health.

During the series, Westin used his powers to resolve investigations for Klae Corporation, while hiding his condition with his wife, Kate (interpreted by Melinda Fee) and their son, Jamie (interpreted by Brandon Cruz). He was helped in his missions by Dr. Peter Brady (interpreted by Mark Richman), another scientist from Klae Corporation.

The invisible man was broadcast for two seasons, with a total of 22 episodes. The series was rather well received by criticism and science fiction fans, and won several prizes, including a Primetime Emmy Award for special effects. Although the series has not been renewed for a third season, it has been broadcast several times in syndication and is considered an icon of science fiction from the 1970s.

Trivia

Two other series existed on the invisible man: one in the 1960s (the hero was called Peter Brady and wore bandages), and another broadcast in France in the 80s (a special watch allowed Sam Casey to stay invisible for 15 minutes).

A third series recently went out in the USA with Darien, a small offender who gets a special gland to become invisible.
