SynopsisThe daily newspaper of police, firefighters and rescuers in the city of New York, always ready to intervene and save their fellow citizens. New York 911 (Third Watch) was an American television series which was broadcast between 1999 and 2005. The series took place in New York and followed the life of the members of a fire station, a police unit and A team of paramedics as they worked together to protect and serve the city of New York. The series featured a plethora of talented actors, notably Kim Raver, Eddie Cibrian, Cobic Bell, Skipp Sudduth, Bobby Cannavale and Molly Price. Each episode followed the characters as they faced dangerous situations and emotionally charged in their daily work. New York 911 was greeted by criticism for its realistic realization and for the way it tackled difficult subjects such as violence, interracial relations and psychological trauma. The series has won several prizes, including a Primetime Emmy Award for the best artistic direction in a dramatic series. Although the series ended in 2005, it left a lasting heritage as one of the first television series to approach the themes of bravery and camaraderie of the first stakeholders.
