Ugly Betty is an old American television series which was broadcast between 2006 and 2010 on the ABC channel. The series was based on a Colombian television series of the same name, "Yo Soy Betty, La Fea". The show followed the adventures of Betty Suarez, an intelligent and hardworking young woman, but who lacks self -confidence and who is considered unattractive. She obtains a job in a New York fashion magazine, where she works for Daniel Meade, the director of publication, who is beautiful and arrogant. Over the series, Betty faces prejudices linked to her appearance while sailing in the ruthless world of fashion.
