His parents from Sicily in Italy immigrated to the United States shortly before his birth. He had a younger sister, Valérie.
He ended his schooling at the Pesskill military school in New York State.
Armando started by being a model, then he accepted a Universal International contract to play small roles. His agent makes him change his Italian name for Guido Armando then finally Guy Williams. He married in July 1948 to actress Janice Cooper with whom he had two children, a boy, Guy Steven born in 1952 and a girl, Toni (Antoinette) born in 1958.
At 33, this good large fencer, 1.91 m, is chosen by Walt Disney to play Zorro. He embodies for 82 episodes the role of Don Diego de la Vega alias Zorro, in the television series of Disney studios, but also roles in the load of Blue Tunics (1955) and Lost in Space. In 1973, he abandoned his profession and fixed with his family in Buenos Aires in Argentina.
In 1989, he died of a break in aneurysm after having devoted himself to humanitarian causes.
