Biography for Kenneth Tigar
Kenneth Tigar has both a B.A and a Ph.D. from Harvard University in German Literature, and he spent a year at the University of Göttingen as a Fulbright scholar.
Kenneth acted for a season in Vienna as a member of the Austrian compony Die Komödianten; and his translations of Brecht, Wedekind, and Büchner have been performed from Boston to Los Angeles.
Kenneth mounted the first American production of Dürenmatt's The Visit based on the original German text. Other directing credits include A Doll's House, The Yeomen of the Guard, The Zoo Story, the world premiere of The Genius by Mitch Giannunzio, and a national tour of The Gin Game with Kim Hunter. He has taught acting and directing on the faculty of the University of Connecticut.

Tigar made his debut in the theater in the 1960s, playing in productions of Shakespeare and Molière, notably in "Le Marchand de Venise" and "The doctor despite himself". He also played in contemporary plays, such as "The Trial of the Catonsville Nine" and "The Basic Training of Pavlo Hummel".
In the 1970s, Tigar started playing in television productions, notably in the series "The Mary Tyler Moore Show", "Kojak" and "The Bionic Woman". He also played in films, such as "The Friends of Eddie Coyle" and "The Amityville Horror".
In addition to his acting career, Tigar has also taught dramatic art in several universities and theater schools. He is also the author, and has written several plays as well as books on dramatic art.
Tigar is a talented and versatile actor, capable of playing both comic and dramatic roles. His rich and varied career has earned him the respect and admiration of his peers.
