TriviaWon a Tony in 1990 for "Gypsy". Appeared before a rally in Washington, D.C., on the coldest day in three years to denounce Bush's war on Iraq. Recently spoke at the March for Women's Lives Rally in Washington, D.C. Appeared with actress-daughter Kathryne Dora Brown in The Wedding Dress (2001) (TV). She was escorted by her longtime friend, former "Cagney & Lacey" co-star John Karlen, to the 2003 Emmy Awards. After Ms. Daly won the Emmy (for her role as "Maxine" on Judging Amy), Mr. Karlen gave her a hug and kiss which was caught on camera during the TV broadcast. Ms. Daly then went on to pay a brief but warm tribute to Mr. Karlen in her acceptance speech. Won Broadway's 1990 Tony Award as Best Actress (Musical) for a revival of "Gypsy." Although low key compared to other acting families, The Dalys (Tyne, Tim and father James) are actually one of the most successful families in TV history with four shows lasting at least six seasons.
