SynopsisPowerful robots, the cylons reign supreme over the universe. Following the destruction of the 12 Kobol colonies, President Laura Roslin and Commander Adama bring together the last survivors and go in search of the legendary 13th colony: a planet known as the land. But the cylons roam and now take human form. Battlestar Galactica was an American science fiction television series which was broadcast between 1978 and 1979. It was created by Glen A. Larson and was produced by Universal Television. The series followed the adventures of a group of human survivors in a science fiction universe, while they were traveling through space in search of a new planet to settle after their own solar system has been Destroyed by an extraterrestrial breed called cylons. The main character in the series was Commander Adama, the leader of the Battlestar Galactica's mother vessel and the rest of the convoy of vessels traveling with him. Other important characters included Lieutenant Starbuck, a skillful and daring combat vessel pilot, and Colonel Tigh, the second in command of the fleet and Adama's right arm. The series was a commercial success and was broadcast in more than 50 countries. It was followed by several television films and by a television series from 2004 to 2009, which was largely considered as a successful reinvention of the universe of the original series.
