The Falcon Crest vineyards are in the Tuscany valley not far from San Francisco. The place is led by Angela Channing, who on the death of her brother is forced to share the estate with his nephew Chase Gioberti, they will wage a merciless war for power.

Falcon Crest is an American television series broadcast between 1981 and 1990. The series takes place in the fictitious city of Falcon Crest, in the wine region of the Napa valley in California, and stages a powerful and dysfunctional family, the Channing, who fight for the control of their vineyard and their wine empire. The series was broadcast on the CBS network and included nine seasons and 227 episodes.

The main character in the series is Angela Channing, interpreted by actress Jane Wyman, who embodies a ruthless and ambitious matriarch who seeks to maintain her grip on Falcon Crest and protect her inheritance against her children and grandchildren. Other important characters include Chase Gioberti, interpreted by Robert Foxworth, the son of the second wife of the late husband, and Maggie Gioberti, interpreted by Susan Sullivan, Angela's granddaughter who returns in the valley after The death of her husband to take over the family business.

The series was a commercial success, and was nominated for two Primetime Emmy Awards and four Golden Globe Awards. Although the series was initially praised for its quality and its realization, it was then criticized for its melodramatic intrigue and its stereotypical characters. Despite these criticisms, Falcon Crest continued to be popular with the public and is considered a classic of American television.
