Our beautiful family (Step by Step in English) was an American television series broadcast between 1991 and 1998. The series featured the members of two families who merged when Frank Lambert and Carol Foster get married. Frank is a single father of three children: Dana, Brendan and Mark, while Carol has two daughters: Karen and J.T. The series followed the adventures and the difficulties encountered by the members of this big family as well as their friends and neighbors. One of the central themes of the series was the importance of family and unconditional love, with episodes that highlighted relationships between family members, their learning and their personal growth. The series was also known for its colorful and endearing characters, as well as for its humorous themes. The ActorsTriviaIn one episode, Jean-Luc tells Carol that she looks like Chrissy from "Three's Company" (1977). Suzanne Somers really did play Chrissy on the show.
Many sets used in scenes inside the house were also used in _"Hogan Family, The" (1986)_ and "Family Matters" (1989).
This show was set in the same television universe as "Family Matters" (1989). In fact, Steve Urkel made an appearance in one episode.
Opening of show is at an amusement park which is by the ocean. The amusement park is Six Flags Magic Mountain, located in Valencia, California, which in reality is many miles inland from the Pacific Ocean.
When 'Patrick Duffy' agreed to return to "Dallas" (1978) in 1986, he had it put in his contract that he would get to be on another television show after "Dallas" ended. Honoring that agreement, this show was created specifically for Duffy, and it premiered the season after "Dallas" ended.
In one episode, J.T. tells Frank that "If you're watching Baywatch with your wife, you know nothing about marriage." Brandon Call played Hobie Buchannon in 4 episodes of "Baywatch" (1989).
After the 6th season ABC canceled the show but then CBS picked it up for its 7th and last season.
The series was nearly canceled after season 5. It was saved when they made Bronson Pinchot and Jason Marsden regular characters. This is why there were no new episodes from May 1996 through March 1997.
Sasha Mitchell was a last minute addition to the show and did not appear until the 4th episode of season 1.
Sasha Mitchell was eventually given his job back and did appear in the second to last episode but the series was canceled and his return was short lived.
